Le Polle di Meletro

A hidden gem in the Tuscan rolling countryside, raised 350 metres above sea level, Le Polle di Meletro, also known as "Il borgo della pace" with its fantastic panoramic terrace, woodlands and enviable position, resides near the small medieval village of Rivalto. With stunning views down the Valdera valley, the prominent location of the villa has maintained a sense of timelessness, peace and tranquillity. It is an oasis of calmness and harmony in which to indulge yourself and relax, but yet it is only 40 minutes’ drive from Pisa airport.The villa is surrounded by fertile soil that produces a range of superior vegetables, fruits and wine. The nearby fields are host to vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees and cereals, whilst the wooded hills are home to the famous ‘Rivalto’ Chestnut along with a rich selection of flora and fauna. The nodding heads of large sunflowers fill some of the fields in July/August setting the landscape ablaze. The view from our terrace and woodland changes as the seasons change, being green and lush in spring through to a golden yellow in summer before becoming a sea of blazing red as the vines change colour in the autumn months.

Each apartment has its own private space with a table, chairs, umbrella and a BBQ. A large terrace surrounds the swimming pool which is for guests only. A sauna is located near to the house for guests to use. There is a wood burning Pizza oven that guests can use along with a dog agility park. The house is set in 17 acres of parkland, so woodland walks or bike rides are a popular pass time.
There is a large free car park next to the villa with an electric charging station.

In 2008 the present owners, carefully and meticulously restored, the characteristic stone built Tuscan country house “Villa Meletro”. It is now a jewel in the centre of a 17-hectare park with scenic and woodland walks to enjoy and explore. The Villa is subdivided in to 4 beautiful and stunning furnished apartments, each with their own unique décor and quality furnishings that reflect the high standard of accommodation that our guests have come to enjoy. Each apartment has its own private space with access to a private pool, whirl pool and sauna that is for residents use only.
Each apartment, two on the ground floor and two on the first floor are approximately 60 square meters..Three of the four apartments have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, making it ideal for families. Each bedroom has a queen size bed and all the apartments have a large sofa bed in the lounge area that can accommodate a further two guests. All bathroom have a toilet, bidet, shower, glass basin and hair dryer. The apartment Rio Maggiore has two single beds instead of a queen sized bed in one of the bedroom. Apartment Le Carbonaia has only one bedroom and one bathroom. The dining room of the villa serves breakfast and an evening meal can be ordered. People renting the whole villa for their own sole use can use the kitchen facilities of the dining room.
There is free Wi-Fi, heating in each of the apartments, satellite TV and a small kitchen area with ample indoor and outdoor space to relax

Many of Tuscany's famous landmarks are within easy driving distance of the Villa. The città d’arte include Volterra, San Gimignano, Palaia and Florence making this a perfect base to explore the whole of Tuscany. Distances: Rivalto 1km, Chianni 3 km, Pontedera (mainline train station) 20 km, Volterra 35 km, Pisa (airport) 40 km, Lucca 50 km, Florence 80 km, Siena 80 km.
Many famous beaches are nearby, most can be reached in around 40 mins, but are usually very busy at weekends during the summer and the journey can take a little longer.

Please note that the villa can only be reached via a road that has not been surfaced (gravel path of about 800 metres), but is easily accessible by car.
