In the middle of a small settlement in Poitzen lies the pretty wooden house, which invites you to get out and switch down with its flower meadow in the front garden. Birgit Klaus has created an idiosyncratic gem with small and large refinements.
Poitzen, like the neighbouring town of Müden (Örtze) in the municipality of Faßberg in the Südheide nature park, lies at the northernmost tip of the Celle district. Both places can be easily reached on foot or by bike to do some shopping. The restaurant at the railway station is known for its legendary potatoes and is open from 5 pm.
The nature park Südheide offers both the hiker and the cyclist, whether ambitious or comfortable, a range of different round tours. The hiking paradise Südheide with its 23 circular hiking trails and the 11 Radthementouren contain varied routes that can also be started from Poitzen. Also included is the Heidschnuckenweg, which leads from Hamburg Fischbek to Celle.
The Lüneburger Heide also surprises with the highest density of leisure parks. All parks can be reached within an hour or shorter by car. Hustle and bustle during the day, peace and quiet at night.
The wooden house stands on a 1000 sqm large property. In the front area Birgit Klaus, born with a green thumb, has created a beautiful flower meadow. The seeds were specially mixed for the local soil. Thus different flowers and plants grow all year round in front of the house.
The veranda can be entered from the living room. You can sit here protected until late in the evening. Those who like it sunny can go from both bedrooms to the balcony. The view of the flower meadow or the forest is unique and inspired. Every room is flooded with light through the many windows.
In the house built according to ecological principles, the creativity of the landlord can be found in every room. "I cannot dispose of old beautiful things. Thus an old wooden bed became a wardrobe, the over-skirt of a ball dress is found as a lampshade and an old oil painting, which everyone would have disposed of, fits harmoniously to the modern armchair." So there are many nice stories about special accessories.
The colourful "spots" on the floor remind Birgit Klaus of the original reason for building the house. She wanted to weave and handcraft here. Now the small woven carpets lie here, the woven frame stands at its original place in her own house. The wool was processed by her from the beginning to the end. Like everything else. A small tree from the garden can now be found in the living room as a curtain rail.
The living room is spacious. From here you can reach the bathroom with shower tray and the kitchen. The cupboard contains information about the region and lots of board games. The stove can be fired. The firewood is available on request! In the kitchen there is a glass door leading to the garden. Kitchen appliances such as coffee machine, kettle and toaster are available.
The two bedrooms are on the upper floor. One room with a double bed, the other with two single beds, a sitting area for cosy hours and a flat screen TV. There is also a small storage room for clothes and suitcases in the hallway.
